Before & About the Play

Brooke performed in "Praying for Rain" This is also for competition.

This is what I call a high top sneaker!!!

Will this work?

This is art ~ I can't believe Mom gave me the camera ~ what was she thinking!

The play Judy Moody is taken from the children's book(s) about the title character. This play is performed for competition. The actors can not look at each other only at the audience. They can not use sets only simple props such as the cubes you will see in the photo's. No costumes ~ all characters need to appear uniform. The actors have to rely on facial expression, body language, and the delivery of their lines to create the image of the story in the mind of the audience. The play can only last twenty-five minutes.

These first photo's were taken back stage before the play by Perry.
~ Looks like he enjoys his image!!!

The beginning of the play ~ Judy Moody

The play begins the morning of the first day of school. Judy is in third grade ~ Stink in second grade.
Judy is in a MOOD! Judy is a real drama princess! Stink is your typical little brother.

Judy is upset because she doesn't have a special t-shirt to wear to school!

Perry eating eggs and toast ~ not really enjoying the meal!

Judy's first morning in class. Preparing for spelling. Judy's mind is not on spelling.

Judy pleading her case for a pet

Judy is pleading her case for a pet of her own. Stink is playing a video game but he is really eavesdropping on the conversation.

Pet store scene

This scene was a riot because the actors on the cubes are animals in the pet store. Actors standing are the Moody family selecting a pet. Green shirt ~ bird, yellow shirt ~ rabbit, blue shirt ~ fish, orange shirt ~ some type of rodent. Back row: orange shirt ~ the Dad, green shirt ~ the mom, Perry ~Stink, red shirt ~ main character Judy Moody.

Frank's party scene

Boys will be boys! This is during Frank's birthday party scene. Think acting out boy body noises, posing as body builders, throwing water balloons ~ you get the idea!
